The challenge round was very close, John Shaw, event planner and FOHC board member said, "I am glad I had to recuse myself from being a judge, I tasted burgers from The Pirate Girl, Crazy Burger, The Mews Tavern and Rhody Joe's, they were all outstanding in their own way. Join us next year for 2nd Annual Summer Time Blues Food Challenge & Spirit Tasting Friday July 1st, 2011 following our 2nd Annual 7 Mile Road Race "Up Around the Bend" Use our run/walk as a warm-up to The Blessing.

Our Mission

For the purpose of preserving the historic landmark Hazard Castle and the botanical grounds for future generations. The development of an appropriate use for promoting and enjoying sports of every kind and the arts. We will create an educational hospitality, community and business learning center that cultivates an environment for reflection and social intercourse, stimulating a path to positive educational, economical, social and business solutions for our local community and the world.

Open Invitiation - How Can You Help?

Concerned about what happens to the Castle? Make a difference become a board member or a member at large. Everyone is welcome on our non-profit committee (see about us). We need your time and your voice, we value your opinion. Submit your proposal for consideration. Concept must include preservation of the Castle and historically significant botanical grounds. The concept should add value and be open to the local community and tourists as well as some private use.  The development should be financially sustainable without debt financing for future generations.
